The Food Bank is located on the north side of Havre over the viaduct and across the bridge.
District 4 HRDC’s Community Garden provides greenspace in what would otherwise be a vacant area and improves the quality of life for the community. A community garden provides fresh, nutritious fruits and vegetables to members of the community and excess produce can be donated to food pantries in the area. The gardening gives community members exercise that is outdoors and in the fresh air.
The Community Garden contains 10 individual plots, approximately 40’ X 50’ in measurement. A $75 fee is asked from gardeners to cover water costs, but a request for a reduced fee is available.
Gardeners are allowed to start planting May 1st and are asked to have crops harvested by October 15th.
